This piece was based off of an illustration appearing as Figure 2 and also in the supplement for the surface-tiling curves paper. The original illustration appears in this video, which is intended to make the order in which things happen a little clearer.

My purpose in making it more illustrative was to have a more artistic version of the diagram with color-coding instead of text. Taking out the words and still retaining all of their meaning was a challenge, but really all of the information is still there. It also makes it a little more like a puzzle the viewer can figure out.
